Very good reference tool if you are new to the St. Louis area or if you're in from out of town. Also good if you're from the Lou, but since we are, we'd heard of most of the restaurants listed. The good thing about this book is that they really go into detail about the foods they've tried, the background of the particular restaurants, the service, etc. The only reason I didn't give it a 5-star rating is simply because the book is too positive. Most of the restaurants get great reviews, so it's hard to distinguish the good and even great restaurants from the extra-special places.
